Tree Globe

As much as I love Photography, I love the ability to try some creativity on the images that I shoot. In this photo, I took 2 photos that I had used in this blog already:

I merged the two images together, used the Filter feature in Photoshop "Distort" then "Polar Coordinates" which created the circular globe look. To round it out a bit, I used the Cloning Tool.

David Hockney Replica

This image is created with the help of Photoshop. I did research on David Hockney for my Advanced Digital Photography course. Part of the project assignment in addition to writing about his work, is to recreate image/s of his work. This image takes one original photo, and then I broke it down with the use of grids and moved the images around. When I looked at his work, I found it interesting because the way it was designed, there were things that seemed to stand out a bit more than if it was a flat image. When looking at an image like this, I find that I take the time to look at the individual segments.

Sheer Surprise ~ Sheer Joy

This has been a truly emotional time for me and my family. During the tough journey, we look for little glimmers of happiness. When Aunt Lonnie was still in the hospital, I got a wonderful email from Eli, our "daughter from Italy" asking if she could pay us a visit. Why would she even ask?! Yes!! I asked that we keep it a secret to surprise everyone.
At the time, we didn't know how quickly things would turn with Aunt Lonnie. The closer the day came to Eli arriving, the more I knew how much wonderfully, good medicine her visit would be. You see, she became part of our family in every sense of what a family means. My parents, simply adore her.
The day finally came when she arrived. Victoria brought her in the house announcing she wanted my mom to meet her new friend E-li. Eli walked into my parents' kitchen and stood there for almost a full 20 seconds. My mother just stared at her ~ and when Eli said, the word, "Nonna" we ended up with this total emotional moment of sheer surprise and happiness. The surprises kept going for the day as my dad was thrilled. Aunt Lonnie ~ even in her weak state, was so happy that Eli 'came home.'
I can't thank Eli's parents enough for sharing her again with us.
For moments like this, I feel blessed.
